“The Art Of Diversity”
Brooklyn’s New Unity Headquarters
Brooklyn, NY- October 15, 2014 – Due to the increase of bias crimes across the country Social Activist, Mark Meyer Appel, has created a multicultural facility to cultivate unity between community members and law officials. The Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting ceremony for The Bridge Multicultural and Advocacy Project (MCP) will be held on location, Sunday, October 19th, at 1894 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The theme of the evening and first art expo, “The Art of Diversity,” will include a multicultural art exhibit, featuring Artists 4 Israel – Broker, GetLostAlot, Mosche Zvi Berger, Sophia Domeville, ilead by Design Ebony Thompson, Robert Bery, Patricia Brintle, Igal Fedida, Yitz Mouly and Mikhail Turovsky. As a show of support, attending this historic event will be Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth Thompson, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L.Adams, Assemblywoman Elect Rrodynyse Bichotte, and local Brooklyn community organizations.
The Bridge MCP is the first organization to provide a unity headquarters for all denominations. The over arching vision of The Bridge is to create a multicultural task force were leaders can meet to fight for change, and where diverse ideas can be shared as a resource to the community. Our nation’s cities have been torn apart with too many episodes of race wars, gang wars, anti-Semitism, anti-Christian, and biased incidences,” declares founder Mark Meyer Appel. “The tension between the urban community and law officials must come to and end; the flames of tension must be extinguished. We have worked too hard as immigrants to make this country a democracy and we must fight to preserve it,” proclaims Mark. The new facility will feature a computer learning center, business enhancement, entrepreneurship courses, open art space, and conference rooms. “The center will be a beacon for community revitalization efforts,” Mark proudly shares.
For twenty years, Mark Meyer Appel has played an historic role in advocating for social change for our nation. His impact has been most evident in his ability to shepherd social issues into public awareness. From the steps of City Hall to Washington D.C., Mark has successfully advocated for: The safety and protection our children from sexual predators and the passing of the New York State Early Intervention Law. At the same time, he campaigned for local health issues that impacted our communities.
The Bridge MCP will bring a fresh energy to the kaleidoscope of communities of Brooklyn and beyond.
