Mr. Mark Meyer Appel, founder of The Bridge Project Arts and Cultural Center, shared why this organization is so important to him; “As a child of Holocaust survivors, I embraced the gift of freedom to religious practice and the freedom to build relationships beyond cultural barriers that the United States has offered me. Recently, a dark shadow has been cast over this great country that stands for freedom, which seems to be promoting division and hate and I just can’t sit back and not do my part to bring about unity through the arts and culture project. We are having this holiday party to celebrate our organizational partners, community, volunteers and staff.”
The center is conveniently located at 1894 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11210. They are committed to creating a safe environment, which fosters intercultural awareness through the Arts, Music and History. The center is dedicated to creating the atmosphere that can encourage and nurture growth and development by including educational tools that stimulates critical thinking and problem solving skills for families. The Bridge Multicultural Project has strong collaborative relationships with many community based organization including but not limited to, Midwood Development Corp., Jewish Community Relations Council, Anti-Defamation League, American Council of Minority Women, Caribbean American Repertory Theater, Moroccan American Council, New York Public Schools, New York City Police Departments and various Churches, Synagogues and Mosque’s.
