On Monday, Dec. 7, NY City Councilman Jumaane Williams organized a non-profit discretionary funding workshop at the Bridge Multicultural Project in Flatbush.
The event revolved around training non-profit organizations, the challenges of how to start and operate a non-profit organization, how to apply for city council and capital funding, and how to brand non-profit organizations with social media marketing. Over 100 people were in attendance, with notable speakers including Ella Weiss, of the Brooklyn Arts Council; Nick Smith, Councilman Jumaane Williams Senator Kevin Parker budget director and Deputy Chief of Staff: Louie Tobias, Director Secretary of Finance DC at the New York State Senate; and Jackson Rockinsgter, the President and CEO of Haitian-American business network HABNET.State Senator Kevin Parker and his staff joined as co sponsor of the event…
